Literacy and Numeracy are life skills which are needed in a contemporary society.  However, there are about six million people in the UK with low level of literacy and numeracy.  The Skills for Life Strategy has been developed by the government which has a target to support adults to improve their literacy and numeracy skills.

Target groups are mainly those:

  • who have missed out on learning essential numeracy and literacy skills in the past
  • who have learning difficulties
  • who wish to progress through the National Qualification Framework.
